Abstract: | The development of industrial production brought with it also establishment of specialized research institutes. Bata needed to cut the cost of the production and extend it by new products. The company had its laboratories already in the 1920s. In 1932 two institutes were established in Zlín; Chemical Institute in Zlín and Tanning Istitute in Otrokovice. Both the institutes significantly contributed to the company's development with many original discoveries, such as WILON - nylon. She appreciates the contribution of Dr. Ing. Stanislav Landa and Otto Wichterle to the development of research work in the chemical industry. |
